Intelligent warehousing, rapid inventory of RFID handheld devices

Jul 10,2023
1、 Background

With the continuous development of enterprise scale, traditional manual inbound and outbound operation modes and data collection methods are no longer able to meet the efficient management needs of warehouses. The easy inventory system based on RFID radio frequency identification technology helps enterprises achieve intelligent digital innovation.

The drawbacks of traditional warehouse management include low level of informatization, continuous increase in material types and quantities, sharp increase in inbound and outbound frequency, high management losses, excessive manual operations leading to low efficiency of warehouse operations, time-consuming and laborious inventory operations, which pose significant challenges to traditional business management.

The basic working principle of RFID technology is non-contact automatic recognition technology. The specific principle is to write a label with product information and enter the magnetic field, receive the RF signal sent by the reader and writer, and use the energy obtained from the induced current to send product information stored in the chip, or actively send a signal of a certain frequency; After the reader reads and decodes the information, it is sent to the management information system for relevant data processing.

Advantages of RFID inbound and outbound inventory:

1. It can recognize objects from a long distance, rather than being able to only recognize one type of object at close range like barcodes;

2. Without alignment, it can penetrate the external packaging to read data, and is not afraid of various harsh environments such as oil stains, surface damage, and darkness

3. It can simultaneously recognize dozens or hundreds of objects, automatically scan them, and achieve rapid inventory results

4. Quickly compare data and transfer it to the backend system.

5. Data encryption technology, establish a data backup mechanism, and fully protect data privacy and security.

RFID intelligent warehouse inventory process

1. Before storing items: Attach or sew electronic labels to each item, complete the labeling process, and store a unique identification ID number that identifies the item in the label;

2. When items are stored in the warehouse: they are classified by category and model. The operator uses the RFID handheld inventory terminal in their hand to scan and identify the items in batches according to the model. After scanning, they are placed in the warehouse and the storage process is completed. The scanned data is uploaded to the server in real time;

3. When the items are out of the warehouse: The operator takes out the specified model and quantity of goods from the warehouse location based on the delivery note or new delivery note, scans and identifies the items in batches, verifies them to be correct, and completes the outbound process. The data is scanned and uploaded to the server in real-time through a mobile scanning handheld device;

4. When returning items: The operator scans and identifies the returned items, completes the return process, and uploads the scanned data to the server in real-time;

5. Query and track goods information: Log in to the system software terminal and quickly search for specific information of the item based on a certain condition. You can view the entry time, exit time, operator, order information, etc. of the item to achieve process tracking.

6. Real time statistical reports and summary of various types of information: After operators use RFID industrial handheld devices to perform inbound and outbound operations on items, the data will be uploaded to the system database in a timely manner, which can achieve data aggregation of item information. Multiple data reports are provided to analyze the inbound, outbound, return, demand statistics, and other aspects from multiple perspectives, providing accurate data basis for enterprise decision-making.

RFID intelligent warehousing changes the traditional manual inbound and outbound operation mode, reduces labor costs, reduces error rates, and improves management efficiency. Data information is centralized, and warehouse information is updated in a timely manner, thus achieving dynamic and comprehensive allocation of human and material resources.
